Paintings by Mary Lou Johnston

This portfolio is a selection of watercolour and pastel paintings that my mother produced over a 20 year period. She always wanted to be an artist and after her retirement from teaching English as a second language, that dream was finally realized. Under the tutelage of a few teachers, my mother produced an impressive collection of paintings that was not limited to one type of subject. Though she tried a few mediums, her favourite was always watercolour and she continues to paint with this method well into her 90s.

Throughout the years my mother won many awards for her work and she also sold and gave away numerous images. Some we were not able to photograph before she gave them away.
